Musical Boxes (for clients RM and DN)

2021. Height: 91.5cm (36”), Width: 92.7cm (36.5”), Depth: 43.1cm (17”)

Made from Tasmanian Oak and Silver Ash salvaged from Coombs Building shelving on the ANU campus prior to demolition of the building. The drawers house a collection of music recordings on compact discs, with each drawer holding 105 discs in plastic “jewel cases.” The design of the drawer pulls is based on the dimensions of the CD jewel case, with the pulls in profile looking like CD cases emerging from the drawer fronts.

Sontag Bed
